MARQUETTE, Mich. — Escanaba scored on the second play of the game Friday night. It did not reach the end zone again.

Marquette scored the last 41 points of the night and beat the Eskymos 48-10 on homecoming at William R. Hart Stadium for its third straight win.

Alex Ison put Escanaba ahead with a 69-yard touchdown run less than a minute in. Marquette tied it on a 29-yard pass from Winston Leonard to Skyler Blackburn, and after the Eskymos answered with a field goal, the Sentinels scored the rest of the night.

Blackburn had three touchdowns before halftime — catches of 29 and 9 yards and an 8-yard run on a jet sweep. Leonard found Brody Clements on fourth down from the 15 to open the second half, Landen Faccio scored from the 2, and Leonard and Clements connected again for 34 yards in the fourth quarter.

Dylan Pond closed it out with a 26-yard run. He finished with 106 yards on 10 carries.

Leonard completed 16 of 21 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns. Clements caught six for 126 yards and two scores. Marquette ran for 214 yards.

Escanaba (1-4, 1-3 Big North Conference) was held to 181 yards. After the opening touchdown it reached the Marquette 20 three times and came away with three points.

"We blew an assignment," Marquette coach Eric Mason said of the opening touchdown. "But they responded, and that’s what I want to see."
